Somewhere last week 3rd May 2023 whiles the world was celebration World Press Freedom Day, two persons believed to be from the opposition party NDC namely Iddrisu Hardy alias Pagaaza and Mumuni Osman stormed a Tamale base radio station which’s an affiliate of the Class Media Group and launched an attacked on a journalist whiles on live radio.

The police swiftly did their jobs by inviting the attackers and later where arranged before court on charges of conspiracy to commit crime, assault, unlawful entry and threat of death. The case was adjourned to yesterday 10th May after which they were reminded into police custody.
Iddrisu Hardy AKA Pagaaza
Appearing in court yesterday Wednesday 10th May 2023,the accused persons pleaded guilty to all counts of charge and where therefore convicted on their own plea. Subsequently sentenced to a fine of (GHC3,600.00) if they default a custodial sentence of 18 months awaits them with hard labour.
Following the convictions, the two duly paid their fines to the court.
Some public opinions are of the view that, the sentence was so light for that kind of attack whiles others are asking what if they’ve injured or murdered the journalist in question.
