The Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare visited the Apromoase Barracks in the Ashanti Region. Following the reports at the early hours of Monday 16th January 2023 over the death of a police officer, his wife and their three months old baby in a tragic fire accident.
The policeman is a sergeant from the Anti Robbery Unit, his wife and three months-old baby were burnt Monday dawn.
Reports from Kumasi has it that,the household of Police Sergeant, Owusu Asante Baafi perished in the fire incident which engulfed their residence at Apromoase in the Ejisu Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
After math of the tragic incident the IGP visited and gave his condolence and then commiserated with those affected by the fire. The IGP assured that, the police will join head with Ghana National Fire Service to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
After relocating the inhabitants of the Barracks to a very safe place, the IGP assured them of Financial support with due counseling.
