According to CAF they’ve been working quite closely with the Algerian LOC and are proud to confirm that they have done amazingly well in preparing and meeting the high standards that have been set by CAF. We must also thank the governors of Algeria for their support. Everything that they had promised to CAF, has been fulfilled. They are doing a great job and must be applauded,” said Mosengo-Omba.

Asked about the importance of a unique tournament such as the CHAN, the CAF General Secretary emphasized the need for such a competition, stating that it celebrates African talent and has a role to play in the ever-growing competitiveness of African football.

With the tournament starting on Friday 13th January 2023, all the 18 teams are gearing up to ink history for their perspective countries.

Morocco has pulled out at the last minutes though but the rest of the teams are soo optimistic to have a great time to showcase their talents.

The Black Galaxies are making a return to the continental championship after missing out on the last three editions.

Ghana were in the final of the inaugural tournament, losing to DR Congo in the final before suffering another defeat to Libya in 2014.

The Black Galaxies led by Coach Anno Walker and captained By Gladson Awaku will play their opening match against The Barea  of Madagascar on Sunday 15th January 2023.

Ghanaians are looking forward to a splendid tactical performance from the Black Galaxies come Sunday as we wish them the best in the tournament.
